When they tell you Paris is a city of lights - don’t believe it.  It is a city of unpredictable weather, and, as one charming and hospitable Parisien has proudly admitted, Paris enjoys rain 264 days a year… Simultaneous collaboration on the canvas gives us the opportunity to complete paintings of substantial size right on location - in the blinding sun, gusty wind, or intermittent rain.  During our annual trip to Paris in the fall of 2001, we accomplished eleven 30x40” finished paintings while standing on the banks and bridges of the Seine. Yet, fighting the elements for a painter – even a collaborating couple! - working in plein-air today is not easier than it used to be for a cave man of the past!
